A local committee, The Rathlin Island Trust then bought the house and began renovations, employing local people and craftsmen. Their work can still be seen today in our handmade staircase.

The house was bought in 1998 by the National Trust and opened its doors as a Bed and Breakfast for the first time. In 2016 a community led reconstruction project to modify the building took place and the Manor House now boasts 12 bedrooms, a licenced restaurant and event space that can accommodate up to 50 people.

Today the Manor House is run by a local family and thrives to be the heart of the Island community whilst creating a warm and welcoming environment for all those visiting Rathlin.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://portal.freetobook.com/reservations?w_id=46657&w_tkn=joQhk37tB9EtFvWFv66tYw36kca2ixP115vfx7EncFwJMkXcVqTav2bMrMl08″ button_text=”Book Now ” _builder_version=”3.3.1″]
[/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_image src=”https://www.manorhouserathlin.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/4L5A3149-scaled.jpg” _builder_version=”3.3.1″]
[/et_pb_image][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row custom_padding=”60px|0px|34px|0px|false|false” _builder_version=”3.3.1″ background_size=”initial” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.3.1″]

About the Island

From the Rathlin community website

Rathlin Island is situated off the north east coast of Ireland, and is the only inhabited offshore island in Northern Ireland.
